Plot Synopsis
An idyllic small town is rocked when Aubrey Fleming (Lindsay Lohan), a bright and promising young woman, is abducted and tortured by a sadistic serial killer. When she manages to escape, the traumatized girl who regains consciousness in the hospital insists that she is not Aubrey, but an exotic dancer by the name of Dakota Moss. Dakota refuses to explain to the authorities how she came about her injuries, and continues to insist that she is not Aubrey – despite DNA evidence that says otherwise. After much investigation, Dakota comes to the conclusion that she and Aubrey are “Stigmata” Twins: when one twin is injured, the other suffers the same injuries for seemingly no reason. She then realizes that Aubrey must still be with the killer. Confronting Aubrey’s father, Daniel, Dakota learns that Daniel’s real daughter died when she was born, and Daniel bought Aubrey from a crack head in the maternity ward that had given birth to twins. Dakota figures out that Aubrey’s old piano teacher is the one holding her, and she and Daniel go to the teacher’s house to confront him. He kills Daniel before Dakota manages to kill him. Dakota uses her connection with Aubrey to find where the killer has buried her alive, and digs her up. The movie closes with a scene of the two huddled together on the ground.Wikipedia |
